Epiphone Eb-3 with a 4 way rotary?

Thinking... Maybe replace the redundant rotary switch with a neck/series/parallel/bridge wiring... Anyone done this? What kind of results could I expect?

I did that to my Fender Jazz. I replaced the neck volume knob with a four-way rotary switch (which required widening the control route a little) and changed the bridge volume knob into a master volume. I like the results. The series position is a very heavy tone; if the Epi's neck pickup sounds anything like a vintage mudbucker, both pickups in series might be too boomy. But you'd have to try it and see what you think.

Why not go for an actual Varitone switch? There are wiring diagrams around, or you can buy them prewired.
