Epiphone EB0 neck problem

I picked up an EBO bass cheap... the only problem is that the neck is not attached to the body! What seems to have happened is that someone pulled the neck back toward them, ripping the two screws closest to the PU out. It's more than stripped. Some of the wood at the end of the neck is torn out; I'd say probably half the depth of the screw hole.

There are two chunks ripped out, one chunk at each screw hole.

I can post pictures when I get home. The question is how to build up those holes and the chunks that have been ripped off. Wood glues and sawdust? Epoxy? Chisel out the damage and glue in new small blocks of wood?

I know that's a lot, but you guys seem to know your stuff.
