Epiphone Mike Dirnt Grabber...definitely won't be grabbing one!

At least it has a nice bridge. Can't say that for most Epiphones.
Yeah... hard no for me. No offense but, I'm not even a Ripper/Grabber/G3 fan to begin with and this seems like very odd timing to release this (finally?). I guess he had to road test it for the better part of a year or 2 until finally unveiling it officially. I really like the Epiphone/inspired by Gibson Custom Shop collaboration idea they got going on with guitars and now it's creeping into basses from the looks of it. However, a lot of players seem to be still be hung up on the pricing of this collab which I get in a sense because Epiphone has more or less always been the "less expensive alternative" to Gibson models and now it's definitely up there with Gibson's least expensive offerings. It is what it is in these times I suppose. To each their own.
I'm gettin' gas for the silverburst one. Been waiting for them to do a G3.
Indeed - my daughter's bass bow cost more than my top 3 basses together (EBMM SR4, German Warwick Corvette Std and SBMM Ray34)!!
Seems like a reasonably accurate reissue. I don't think the price is too bad. Still crossing my fingers for a Ripper next year, but if I was gigging 4s I'd consider this.

OK, I'm coming around on this, even with the effed up pickguard. I love the silverburst. But I have a goldburst Woodrite Graver coming in a couple of months haha
I admit I have been waiting for this release from when Matt Freeman posted Mike talking about it while they were on tour together. I have a '76 G-3 with the Bill Lawrences. I play a lot of dive bars and would love to be able to leave the '76 at home, and the video above sounds just like mine. When you shop what a set of Novaks cost, this having Nashville-made Bill Lawrence style pickups makes this a deal compared to what you'd pay buying a used Epi reissue and upgrading it. Just my 0.02 for those that are decrying the cost.
Anyways, I hit watch on a few on Reverb this morning and mulled it over. One of the dealers sent a direct offer and that's all it took for me. The new case looks great too, FWIW. My vintage Gibson case sucks. It is down to 1.5 working latches and I may be most excited about the case. I'll happily update with my findings and impressions.

@HP Hovercraft, it's not the pickguard that's effed, the body is too elongated & widened slightly in comparison to originals (& my own builds). See my quoted post here comparing both the new Epiphone Grabber & the Vintage Gibson Grabber.
I’m only seeing the black version in stock everywhere? Are the naturals going to be released a little later?
The naturals are a Gibson-direct exclusive.
Nothing in my area yet, but I'm hoping to try one out soon...preferably a natural one.
(Not a fan of Fender's gray burst, not sure if the Epiphone will be gray silver.)
Huh, okay. Does anyone have experience with buying from Gibson direct? How’s their customer service/quality control?
