Epoxy vs. Polyurethane vs. Mylar for coating a fretless board

I got some adhesive mylar and put it on the rosewood fingerboard of my fretless Jazz. Here are some sound clips to show the difference in sound:

The difference is subtle but it's there. I'm not sure I'm going to keep it on there, though. I use TI flats on all of my basses and I'm not too concerned about them damaging the fingerboard. I'm also not crazy about the feel of the mylar when I'm sliding around.

We'll see.
