EQ setup for a Nirvana sound

Hey everyone, I have a Fender Jazz, a gallien kruger 700-RB II and a ampeg 6x10 classic cab, which EQ setup should I use to get closer to a Nirvana sound?

I'm trying out for a Nirvana tribute band and I need a sound close to the original with these instruments that I've got. For the moment I don't have anything else. I also have a bass big muff that I can use here and there.

Please let me know. thank you everybody

You should try recording yourself as you jam along to Nirvana. Only you can stand there and tweak the knobs and hear how it sounds. I would start by putting the Treble at about 3/4. Bass around 11 O'clock. High Mids around 11 O'clock, Low Mids around 9 O'clock. Then I would back off the neck Pickup a tiny bit. I would also probably use a pick. This is how I do it with my Ric through my Traynor YBA-300 Tube amp. I also use just a tiny bit of Distortion(I mean just a hint). To Me it sounds very close to "Smells Like Teen Spirit".

Low Mids at 9??? Ok i'll try that and see what happens. Unfortunately at home I can't play through my amp because I would be too loud for the neighbors. I'll give it a try anyway though.

Thanks.

It's worth trying and tweak from there. I double checked and My Treble Knob is more like 1 o'clock Plus I definitely turn treble higher for some songs. Also, Stainless steel strings would definitely help.
