I have been doing a single forever it seems, and would appreciate any input. For years I have been programming my bass and drums on a Roland R5, dumping the info onto 3.5 discs via an Alesis Data Disc and then reversing the progress to load my drummer(s) ready for the next song. I am now forever losing data from my discs or having song info mixed up.
I wish to take my 400+ songs and somehow store them on my laptop, arrange or re-arrange them and then download them onto whatever device I wish to use on stage. This will eliminate 2 drummers, data disc and all cords and power supplies and foot switches etc, not to mention tying up 4 channels on my mixer.
I have been looking at maybe using a Zoom HD16 or a Zoom R24 either will give me the option of adding other tracks to my song at a later date. Or are there other devices that I can just plug my drummer into and download bass and drums right into the computer? THE SIMPLER THE BETTER.
