I keep stepping over my own cable, and I always worry that I'll rip out the plug or the jack.
Once I didn't have straploks. It was easy to keep the cable secure by looping it though the strap, because the strap was snug against the butt of the body and it would keep the cable nice and tight most of the time. (That's how most pros do this AFAICS)
A few weeks ago I got tired of taking straps on and off the hard way, and put Straploks on all my basses (Dunlop). Now there's a gap between the guitar body and the strap, and the cable won't stay there...
