Ernie Ball Scale

I was thinking about switching my Squier Jag V to Flatwounds and was looking at the Ernie Ball strings (2810). I read one review that cautioned that they may not be long enough. How do I verify that?

Measure the physical distance on your bass between where the ball end sits and where the string just clears the nut. That's called "winding length".

Then refer to this chart:

For a long scale bass like yours that doesn't have a string through bridge, basically any long scale set will do.

But measuring like Michael T described is the right way to know for sure.
