I was shopping and I saw a used ESP LTD B-1006 same price as a new Ibanez SR706.

The main differences are the SR706 being bolt on, bartolini pups and 34 inch with a thin neck.

and the ESP LTD B-1006 being neck through, emg pups with a 35 inch neck. and it costs like 300 dollars more if new.

So what do you think?

Its hard to know since theres almost no reviews.

My opinion is the B1006 is the best bang for your buck 6 on the market right now. "Real" EMG's and Pre vs. cheapie Bartolini's and an Ibanez pre. Neck through vs. bolt on is your preference so I won't comment on that. The hardware on the B1006 is also very solid, all Hipshot I think. Only thing I don't like about the ESP is that the 6 string has a rosewood board and the 4 and 5 string models have ebony. Not sure why. I played the B1005 and was impressed with the tone and playability. However, I will give the edge to the Ibanez neck. Very comfy if you like em thin and flat.

If you are going to upgrade anything on the Ibanez then you might as well spend a little extra up front and get the ESP. Nothing wrong with that Ibanez though if you want to save a little cash.

I’ve had both, well it was the SR705, and I would choose the 1006 in a heartbeat. The sound is far far superior, so is the build quality. Only thing in favour of the i by would be that it would be a bit light in weight.
