ESP B55

The B255 looks great in natural
I'm the proud owner of a black ESP F-104. When I was trying out 5ers, I first tried the 5-string version of the F104, then I tried out a B255 model (looks very similar to the B55). THe 255 felt great to me - can't really say much else except to say you could do worse than pick one of those babies up.

I have a B-50 that I really like, especially for the price. I don't have any experience with the five string so I can't comment on the low B, but mine really plays well and has a nice P bass type tone. I also defretted mine and strung it up with flats if that matters. As for the quality: I had to set mine up when I got it and the bridge pickup can be a little noisy, but most basses in this price range are a lot worse out of the box. I would recommend it if you're just looking for a beater. Good luck.
Agathis body, 34'', rosewood maple, passive pickups. Pretty standard for that price. I guess you get what you pay for. I don;t think it's bad, but I would spend a little more for a yamaha or something better.
I have one that I bought at a pawn shop for $105. For the price I paid for it I think I definitely got my money's worth. I mainly play my p-bass(4 string), so when I play the B55, the closer string spacing feels weird but I adjust to it pretty quickly. As far as the B string in standard tuning, I don't remember it being floppy, but I have it tuned down 1 step to A standard and it's pretty loose now. Hope this helps.
