I posted in the "other" thread earlier today and now I see this one's been revived.
So, I'll repost here......

Is anyone giving out club #'s?????

Here is my LTD B-404SM. This one's a strong #2 in my arsenal of 6 only behind my Clement custom.
its easily my lightest bass in terms of weight but between the EMG pickups and the EMG pre-its a true heavyweight in terms of tone, punch and volume!

Some of the spalt top on those basses are mediocre at best, but yours is awesome! The 404's play and sound great, too.

Thanks for the compliment!! :D
When these basses reached my local Sam Ash, they were the inspiration to buy my first new bass in, like, almost 15 years.

I bought the first one they got and mine EASILY Has the best top.
The last one had a miniscule amount of spalting in between the pickups and thats it! No wonder that one almost celebrated a birthday in the store.

And no doubt on the playability-this was my 1st bass with a satin finish on the neck and its great! And the 100% EMG electronics really deliver the goods with the sound.

I've been wanting a nice bass that has neck through construction and active emgs... the only bass that fits the bill and is a reasonably priced instrument is the b-400 series. I've played 5 string basses for years and a part of me wants to get this one....

Not sure if I should stick with the 5 string version. But it has very impressive specifications.... active EMGs, good hardware, neck through.... either this or the 5 string. Reading this thread has helped convince me that ESP may not be a bad choice. I think subconsciously I think "ltd... its like the squire of ESP" and immediately get put off. I'm going to check sam ash the next time I'm in Orlando and see if they have some for me to try.

While its true that the LTD line is not ESP's "top of the line", they are very well-made basses with some nice features for the money. Neck-thru, EMG guts just to name 2.
I'm an LTD believer, thats for sure!!
