A personal fav is Billy Drummond's DUBAI -the line up is Walt Weiskopf and Chris Potter and it's all very non standard. Peter sounds good on Weiskopf's NO NO NONET and SONG FOR MY MOTHER too.....
There's a Rich Perry Quartet record I just heard about - Renee Rosnes and Billy Drummond. It's probably not new, since Billy and Renee aren't married to each other anymore...
Nice call on those recordings, Ed, some of my personal favorites, especially Dubai.
There's a nice Mulgrew recording Time and Again...
And plenty of others that just aren't coming to mind at this late hour
am i going to sound cliche by saying "live at the village vanguard" with Bill Chaprlap, and Kenny Washington. i REALLY dig this trio. hearing them live just has a certain honestness to it.
I've been a fan of PW for a while now, but got to watch him play (I was listening, Paul, but the visual is important in this case) last year when he toured with the Blue Note 7. Impeccable technique to go with a great sound. Should be no surprise. Very solid player.
