Double Bass EUB for under 1000 dollars

i need suggestions. please post an opinion, and can i get a solid opinion on the NS design Wav 4?

There are several options for EUB under $1000.
Are you looking for 3/4 upright scale (around 42")?
Bass guitar scale ( 34"-35")?
Do you need it to pack up real small so it fits on a bus easily( or in a compact car)?

Just as a reminder.
You get what you pay for and no EUB is ever going exactly like a Double bass.
They are their own creatures and great for what they are.

Now with all that said. I have a Palatino with some extensive DYI mods on it. You can see it on the Palatino thread. Although if your looking for something out of the box and no mods you might want to try something else.
I chose the Palatino because of the feel, it's not so stick/oar like,
and for under a $1000 with some modifying it sounds pretty good less Fretless BG and more DB like.
I also set mine up with multiple pickups so I can change my sound around a little.

So grab some coffee and start reading the threads in the EUB section of TB, it will take a while.
