Double Bass EUB that feels like a real DB

The BSX Allegro would not be too loud at night for pizz, but can still get a reasonable unplugged arco volume. If your walls are not too thin then it should be ok, but if not it might be a little louder than you want.

I am really happy with mine but that comes from someone with no other EUB experience and I have only played one DB (my teachers) for any longer than a try out in a shop. So happy yes, but not too much to compare it too.

The Yamaha SLB 200 is the closest I have ever gotten to the feel of a double bass. They now have a new edition with some sound improvements. But for feel, its the best I've played. They just got all the angles right..to me. They balance great. Of course theres the Czech Ease, but thats not really an EUB...or is it?!?! :)

+1 the neck feels and plays just like the real thing, also the frame gives you the right feel when it comes to how the bass sits against your body

guess its kinda dependent on what your playing on it though, great for pizz jazz and sounds huge when played arc

The Chadwick Folding Bass.
A great instrument that is the answer to our prayers. It is a real instrument. Not a compromise. It sounds good, looks good and can be set up any way you want. No one will ever know you are not playing a regular bass.
My wife loves it because I can practice late at night and not disturb the neighbors. In a pinch, I can fold it up and put it in the trunk or on the back seat.
The only thing it can't do is weight less than a regular bass.
