Euphonic or Acoustic Image?

I am primarily playing upright now with occasional electric. Half the time with a 5 pc combo and half with a big band. I am thinking about getting either the Euphonic IAmp Doubler II with a Wizzy-112 M-Line or the Acoustic Image Clarus SL-2 with the DoubleShot speaker. Does anyone have any advise or even a different suggestion?

I tried the Clarus SL w/Doubleshot and it wasn't enough for a big band, but that was with electric. The Doubler II w/ Wizzy M Line will do a better job IMO.

I mainly go through the Clarus S4 into a Wizzy 10 and it has worked on upright for every application so far (mainly combos, some big band). My master rarely gets over 10 o'clock. I just got a DoubleShot a few weeks ago and haven't put it through the same tests, but I highly recommend either the Clarus S4 or the Doubler just for the xlr input if you ever use a mic for the upright. The M-Line will absolutely do the job. The only benefits that I see for the SL-2 are the reduced size and price, and how it fits a bit more snug on the DoubleShot.

I'd pick the head that has the most features you like and then pair that up with a cab that you like best. I use a 900 watt AI Focus as my main gigging head and then have a few different cabs that I use depending upon the gig needs: acme B1s for upright gigs with less volume and more tone requirements. I'll use a GK neo 410 for loud electric gigs with a drummer; sometimes a ten2 AI cab when the volumes are mid level and the schlep is a long ways through crowded town with no parking nearby.

I went with the upshot combo with the SL-2 and added the EA Wizzy M-Line for additional sound. I got them the other day and they sound great. I really love The sound of the SL -2 with the MLine.

Thanks. I went with the upshot combo with the SL-2 and added the EA Wizzy M-Line 112 for additional sound. I got them the other day and they sound great. The MLine is lighter weight than I expected so I will probably use it for most gigs. The upshot will be handy for rehearsals except maybe big band it might not have the volume.

You should be able to run both cabs at the same time for more volume.

yes, I tried that yesterday and the difference was significant which I think is due to the increased power that comes with the reduced impedance from 8ohms to 4ohms. I don’t think I will need more power/volume any time soon.
