Double Bass Eurosonic G string zing

Hi all. I have been a using Eurosonic lights for the past couple of years, and am a big fan of how they feel, sound, and work with a mag pickup when needed. I put them on my 42' Kay S9 a couple years ago, and recently put them on my recently restored 37' K Myer. I have noticed the G does sound a little bright for my liking, but it is mire noticable on my K Myer being a brighter sounding bass. Any recommendations on reducing the brightness?

If you're sure it isn't a problem with the individual string itself, and if you're determined to stay with that particular string's type, tension and thickness, double check your bridge to make sure everything is right with it. Then possibly consider having a sound post adjustment...

An alternative approach staying with Eurosonics might be getting a heavier tension G string.

Another possible alternative is a completely different type of G (and possibly D) string -- keeping in mind your requirement for ferrous strings.

This became obvious to me after putting on a set of Jargar Dolce strings (for bowing purposes) The g was so much more balanced. I believe this rules out a bass issue. While I do like the Jargar's, I miss the "mwah" of the Euro's, although in my opinion it is a bit excessive on the G string.
I did think about running the Jargar G, with the Eurosonics, but am pretty certain it will be quite unbalanced, as they are a much quieter string, .

I had good luck with the medium G paired with Eurosonic lights. It’s tighter than the light G but still softer than the light D so it doesn’t create a tension balance issue, and IMO had a fuller sound. Also I’ve found these strings get a LOT warmer sounding over time.

Care to show a picture of that setup, Earl?
Thanks!
