so i finally let the whole thing load and although the demo itself is great and despite when i was talking to max earlier i said it would be total overkill for me, i want one!

I don't know about Bass Whammy killer. Certainly could be, but the demo didn't show nearly enough to convince me and the description was lacking in detail as well.

I certainly hope it lives up to expectations. I'm just about finished with my board for my new project (dub/d'n'b/acid jazz) and it has worked well in the last two jams/practices. But if there was one more effect I'd like to have, it's pitch shifting.

Why is that?

Hopefully not just for money because if the Pitch Factor really IS a Bass Whammy killer, the bottom will drop out of the used market for the Digitech. No point in spending more money when $400 (that's what the ModFactor and DelayFactor go for) would get you the whammy functions AND a bunch more.

Loading the demo is like using internet in the early 90's with a analogue modem carrying a speed of 33,3 K! Those were the days.. Eventide are probably having a problem with their web server.

I just want something that doesn't have a faulty input volume knob. Sometimes the bass whammy has a fit and starts making a static sound. Only cure is to tap the volume knob a bit.

wow... great studio tool for sure... i doubt it will sound fat enough for bass, but will be amazing. finally i won't be as bummed that my old eventide H910 died... the 'heroes' snare sound will once again be mine.

You know, that guitar --> bass track actually made a more convincing P-Bass sound than I thought possible with any guitar, and especially with any digital modeling unit! I'm really impressed.

A SynthFactor would be cool, although it sounds like this PitchFactor can pull off a few synth sounds, a dedicated synth pedal would rock.

A SynthFactor would be incredible. Listening to the Synthonizer demo on Eventide's website suggests it's not going to be like a bass synth sound.

I don't know if this domain of effects would be intricate enough to lend itself to a whole Factor pedal, and maybe it's something best suited to real analog design, but what about a multi-distortion pedal? Maybe combine it with an amp / cabinet modeler? Maybe combine a fully-parametric eq and call it the ToneFactor?

(fyi all, the audio demo seems to be loading faster now)
