Thank god my band finally got a good drummer. He loves me because ive been conditioned by playing with crappy ones. Our first one was a russian dragon, who would speed up and slow down several times in each song. Our second was ok, but drums were not his first second or even third best instrument. Our third was enthusiastic and steady, but wasnt very good at improvising and learned slowly. So now when my current drummer changes tempo i dont even notice that ive changed too. I actually get to play bass and dont have to worry about carrying the rythym for the whole song by myself. We react to each other so well we will improv a sweet fill together for the first time and never be able to figure out later who thought of it. Ive known him less than a year and we are already best freinds. OMG he can count to other numbers besides 4!!!
I cant even really express how happy I am to have a good drummer. I dont want to say that you cant appreciate a good drummer till you have had a bad one, because none of deserve that, but I appreciate him all the more because of it.
