Double Bass Ever seen anything like this!?

I came across this ebay auction for maybe the strangest EUB I have every seen. Check out the headstock! I have never seen anything like it. Anyone out there have an experience with it?

It looks like they had a nice design concept for the lower part of it, then went on an almighty DMT trip, then finished the pegbox.

Made from ca 1960 to ca 1964. Wandré Swedenbass, by unconventional instrument maker Wandré Pioli in Italy. Had one of these basses, more as a collector´s item than a player, but sold it. Wandré made a lot of weird EUBs in the 60s:
