any of you guys ever consider lifting weights to help with the weight issues you're experiencing?
Contemplating passing on my Ash/Maple MIA P bass. I like the sound and have had it since 98' and have taken great care of it but it's feeling like a lot to carry around these days.
I also have an Ash/Maple 99' MIA Jazz but it's much lighter and it's been a pleasure to use, sound and weight wise.

The main problem here is that when basses really seem to be too heavy is about the same time in life when weight training becomes too dangerous for most men's soft tissue. You no longer build strength, you merely hurt your joints and tendons...maybe forever.
Anyway, heavy instruments are just uncomfortable compared to lighter ones in most cases. I've never liked heavy instruments, even before they became painful.
