It'd be kind of nice to have a "sympathize," "compassion," or similar expression of support button, although of course that support is much more valuable face to face among folks who truly are "there for you" in a physical and geographic sense. Still, I'm sure there are folks who place value on, and who benefit from, the expressions of caring here. I always feel strange "liking" a post wherein someone conveys a family tragedy, personal struggle, or reaches out for support.

I've found Angie's List to be a huge ripoff - mediocre service at primo price - they rip off both the customers and the service providers, imho.

It used to be great. It was run purely as a neighborhood collective where you could browse and make your own decisions. Now, you even look at the site and all of a sudden you are swamped with unsolicited calls about getting things fixed that aren't broken or fixing things that are broken from people who aren't competent. It's like Twitter.

You certainly can't snob around in the rehearsal room:
You're only the bassist there / You're the only bassist there.

So if you want to take all those expensive gear builders and their families take a hard dive face first on the concrete in front of the houses they got freshly evicted from and welcome them to the homeless community then go ahead and complain about snobism on TB, but I can't hear you - I'm too busy playing my $8000 bass into my Noble preamp, vainly searching for dead spots.

Maybe a cancel button. Perfect for cancel culture. A single cancel response would delete an "offensive" user permanently from TB. It would enable ordinary users (no membership required) cancel privileges, shaping TB to be their perfect place.

Points would be awarded for number of cancellations. Points would escalate per cancellation in the following manner: 1 point for the 1st cancellation, 2 points for the 2nd, 100 points for the 100th cancellation, etc.

Last person standing wins TalkBass, with the prize being the honor of remembering to turn off the lights.
