I wonder what kind of effects have been used by Pino Palladino to obtain the beautifull bass sound on Paul Young's piece "everytime you go away" ?

Is that Octaver ? wich one U think ? anything else ?

I believe it comes down to a fretless bass with a good chorus pedal.

This article says he used a Boss OC-2 octave, but I don't think it sounds close.
