Not sure if this is what you meant. The harmonic minor scale doesn't have the #4 which the lydian scale does, and it doesn't have a b9 either.

lydian - 1 2 3 #4 5 6 7 8

harmonic minor - 1 2 b3 4 5 b6 7 8

I think the Locrian mode has the best color for that :b2, b3, b5, and b7.
