Expensive vs inexpensive basses

Nothing raises hackles like a well worn troll bait thread.
The silliness is, inexpensive product is serviceable, reasonably priced a better value, and high priced is more refined. (As a general rule)
No doubt that some product is simply designated for luxury, and brand snobbery. Just because carefully crafted product costs more in many cases, does not mean pedestrian has any less value than elite.

The object has no value other than monetary, unless the object is utilized for it's intended purpose.
Some are pleased to own and collect things that few can hope to have, collectors who never leave their home and only play for their own fullfillment.
Value is arbitrary, assigned, and variable.
I had a Betamax, a lazerdisc, beany babies, pet rocks, all "elite" crap valued by many at the time and I was happy to indulge frenzied collectors for a profit.

Then there are those who can afford luxury's but choose utilitarian.
Sir Paul
Ged
Steve Harris
Come to mind, most often seen with rather normal stuff.

If it sounds good it is good

Many of y'all would love, and just as many would turn their nose up at the choices I have made.

Thank you for looking, now back to the pointless bickering "mine is better than yours" ego wars.
Sir Paul has a huge collection of basses. His Rick was the equivalent of $4000 back in 1964.
He wasn't playing what I would call working class stuff.

In the mean time while we are discussing whether we should spend 199$ or 5,000$ on a bass or not:

@Moderators, could we just maybe have ONE thread about how great or lousy cheap basses are and how expensive basses are more awesome or just awful?
And new threads that start could just be tacked on to that one?
Title could be "Cheap or Expensive Basses - there can be only ONE! (Thread)."
Or if you dont like it, you can keep scrolling. Let's be honest here... with the exception of sales ads and brand new products, EVERY topic here has been discussed. Its a forum... a place for conversation.... and many of those conversations will repeat. If you were walking around a dinner party and overheard people discussing something that had been discussed elsewhere, would you go ask the host to tell them to stop?
Besides.... making a reply asking people to stop discussing things that have been discussed here is also something that has been done a million times.

And so has your response. So yes, you are doing the same as the one you are accusing. Nice job:rollno:

I have a Jaguar with a 350 Chevy motor in it... :roflmao::hyper::D
I just had a talk about that yesterday!!!! About how there are so many vehicles that people love but cant trust so somebody should do proper swaps lol... like an 89 Plymouth Voyager with a Honda B18. Keep in mind that this convo came up because I was furious that I psyched myself up for a gibson explorer that despite a VERY attractive price, refused to stay in tune and already had checking on the headstock/body.
Other honorable mentions from our funny car chat were 1st Dodge Neon w/ honda b18, 80's grand marquis with toyota V6, mazda rx7 with anything reliable, Geo tracker with a prius drivetrain ... just so many cars that pulled at my heartstrings..... but are a terrible idea to purchase due to lack of reliability or heinous mpg

How cool! At first, that cluster of drivel just looked like more idiotic s*** from moronic "art" people.

But after staring at it for a few seconds....I get it!

It's a spaceship, right?
