experience

K, so

alot of what is being talked about here has to do with the actual experience of playing with other musicians.

What are some things, general or specific, that someone should pay attention to or work on when they are in a real playing situation, that would allow them to get the most out of that experience?

Groove.

Other people's time and where they place the beat.

Your role as the crossroads of harmony and rhythm.

How your lines enhance/inhibit the vocals.

WHere's the kick drum at?

Does your tone work well with the guitarist's tone?

etc.
