Double Bass Experts required.

The instrument was occassionally pulled out and played when my father, a guitarist, his pals Jimmy on guitar and Cliff on fiddle, were joined in a jam at the house by a bass player.
They all had played Gypsy jazz stuff together since just after the war. They used to play professionally and have super jam sessions and parties at our house. I apologise for any offence that this may cause to our classically minded brethren that the bass was used for the Devil's music.

I cannot think of any occassion since the mid 70s when this instrument was played.

I've been watching and listening to classical players recently due to my interest in arco playing. Since it is an old school idea, I thought your target market would be classical players. I've never seen a three stringed bass in person and don't now how they are tuned but I guess it works in any idiom. So, keep it or sell it but I vote for keeping the three string setup.
