Expression Pedal

Ernie Ball pedals are rock solid, but too big and heavy IMO. I don't stand on my pedals, I only use the weight of my foot, Nice smooth action though.

For the OP, maybe look for a PEEP... photo electric eye that works in an expression capacity. Could be fun.

hey has anyone used a Boss FV500L with Moogerfoogers? I can't seem to get mine to work with my MF-101 and I'm hoping I didn't mess something up by using it. It works with my pigtronix mothership with non TRS cables which is the weird thing. Anyone know?

Moogers definitely require a TRS cable to an expression pedal. If you think about it, an exp pedal is just a pot (like a knob). Pots have 3 lugs. Just like a TRS jack.

Hmm.... I was using what I believe is a TRS cable. It has two stripes on it, and I tested it with audio to make sure it worked. Any guesses?

Well durn. I'm not sure. If it has the two stripes that is definitely a TRS cable. Are you sure you were using the "EXP" in on the Boss pedal without any other connections? You can use it only as an expression pedal, not as a volume control and expression simultaneously (I believe).

If you had it hooked up right, all I could imagine is that either the cable is bad, the EXP jack is bad, or one or both of those inputs (Boss EXP and Moog Cutoff in) are dirty - a spritz of contact cleaner in both could solve the problem as well. Keep us updated!

I had the same problem with my Boss expression but it was the Moog jack - I could get either no sweep or a really scratchy sweep. I sprayed some contact cleaner in, inserted/ removed a cable a few times to spread it around and let it dry for maybe 20 minutes and it cleared it up. I know it's more money to spend which can be especially frustrating if it doesn't fix the problem, but chances are it just got grimey in there and it needs a good cleaning. Use a flashlight or point it up towards some light and see if it's really dusty in there.

I was wondering if this problem was ever solved? I have a fv500L that I have been using with my Malekko 600D from time to time and for some reason now it won't control the Malekko. I have tried two different stereo cables with the same result. The other inputs and outputs for the fv500 work fine. If I unplug the trs cable from the Malekko the regeneration works as it is supposed to but the second the cable is in it basically goes back to zero and the treadle on the fv500 does nothing. Any other ways I can test these things to find out which is the culprit?
