Hey. How do you extend bass walks?

Well, sometimes I'll walk with my bass down to the park every once in a while... Really, you just have to strike up a good conversation.

I think strategically placed chromatic passing tones might help. For example, if you're playing in a major key and are going from the 2nd to the maj3rd, you can take TWICE as long to get there if you meander through the minor third on the way rather than staying strictly in-key.

Is that the sort of thing you're talking about?

Yeah. Sort of. Most of the walks I have to do are in Ab minor and I get tired of the 8 notes in the walk
