external sound card and cubase help

hey i just bought an external sound card and ive got it set up to my computer. its working fine, im getting sound in and out ok.

but cubase doesnt seems to be responding to it. there is nothing coming through the input on it?

im pretty sure its something wrong with cubase rather than the sound card but if it isnt going to work im going to have to take the sound card back asap

can anyone help me?

Hi Dave,

Can you be more specific? What OS is your computer on? Which Audio Interface? Which version of Cubase?

Hi Dave,

I do not have any experience with that soundcard. Do you have Windows Media Center installed? If so, that often has conflicts with Pro Audio applications. I have a workaround for Windows Media Center Edition if needed. If you are on a standard Windows XP Home or Professional machine, as long as you have loaded the ASIO drivers for the soundcard, you should be good to go.

Hi Dave,
What connections do you need on the card? If you are running Media Center Edition, you will have to remove it or go through a workaround to get most audio cards working properly.

I don't know how available these are in Europe.

If you only need unbalanced line in and outs on RCA , this is a solid card:

i found this on my local music shops website

that will do the trick wont it? i was hopeing for midi but it doesnt matter that it aint got midi.

that will upgrade the quality of my recordings wont it? just a final check just incase im totally going along the wrong lines

Do you have a model number and/or a manufacturer for the product? I don't have full internet access here at work to see what that link is.
