EZDrummer - what do you think about it?

Do you write your own drums parts? Or do you use EZDrummer's midi collection?

The way we used both EZ Drummer and Addictive Drums was with my drummers e-kit.

Hook it up via midi cable to the interface we were using, record the drums via midi (we played with the MIDI being recorded and the drum kits own sounds being used to monitor). After we had recorded, you fire up which ever drum app you have, and play about with the settings and what not to get the sound set you are after.

It is kind of similar to recording bass or guitar completelly clean and then re-amping (either with an actual amp or computer software).

I've got EZ drummer. I like how easy it is to use, and I think the drums sound amazing. What I DON'T like are the facts that it isn't 64 bit yet so I can't use it on my new laptop :/ , that's supposedly going to change with an update this month though, and; is it just me or are all the grooves and rolls pretty similar and not all that great? The drummer has a weird loose feel to me in anything I try to put together. The fills often even sound a bit off to me. Or just weird and unatural. Maybe I just have to work with it a little more. My boss dr880 seems to have a whole lot more going on in the way of versatility and sounds though.

Sorry not to be able to give a good opinion on EZ drummer but I'm a recent convert to Superior Drummer - I think it's the best on the market and I say this after bitter experience with BFD 1 + 2 - but the thing I love most is using EZ Player pro with SD2 which allows you to preview - or audition - each midi file and then select either the whole file or just individual elements from it like just the hats or kick - the splice them together... I haven't even started doing that yet but I've got some fantastic results just using the files I've already got - [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]
