F is for Family

It's a cartoon on Netflix about a family in the 70s. Bill Burr writes it and is the voice of the dad. It's not for kids and full of profanity and it's one of the realist shows I've ever seen. Real dialogue and real characters without any sugar coating. It's brilliant. Watch it if you have Netflix. It's fantastic.

I wasn't sure what it was when I started watching it, but I really did enjoy it. The animation is good and the dialogue was indeed not sugar coated. Reading some of the credits it looked like it was originally a French production. ( not 100% certain tho.)

I watched a few episodes, it is more coarse than most cartoons but it is funny. Lot's of F bomb, no surprise I guess. The time is 1973 which makes for some cool incidental music and fashion etc.

Yah he is. His podcast is great. Not everyone can talk alone for an hour in that format and be hilarious.

He said on his podcast that production is really slow. Season two will take another year.

You know the real problem with getting older? I'm starting to wonder if there are shows or games that are gonna not come out while I'm still alive

And they apparently spend a lot of time on the writing, which I think shows in the final product. It would've been an amazing live action dark comedy on HBO if it wasn't a cartoon on Netflix.

Haven't seen that one yet. I'm rationing out the episodes. But maybe it's best as a cartoon. Those kids say a lot of naughty things which would probably upset a lot of advocacy groups if the kids were real kid actors, heaven forbid.

BTW, the scene in the Fenway Park bathroom totally hit home for me, having gone there a bunch as a kid. I was so grossed out by it- it was hard to watch.
