i "liked," too. Thanks for starting this thread - addresses exactly some of the questions I'm having regarding how best to begin an Internet presence for a start-up band. Reverb Nation app on Facebook looks like a great way to go.

One thing I don't understand: I already have 25+ likes, but I still have that long address. Why?

I put together a facebook page for the band I am leading. If I get 25 fans facebook will give me a proper url instead of the monstrosity with a huge amount of numbers etc. My question is how do you get people to "become a fan"? Is it the same as "Like" -ing the page? For the life of me I cannot find any "become a fan" link.

Even after 25 "likes" happened, there are still quite a few numbers on the URL address. I've noticed this on the OP's page as well as mine. Any Facebook experts know why this happens? Do you have to hit another magic number for it to read facebook/pages/(band name)?

did some research, this is what I found:

"Once you reach a certain number of Fans (Some say it’s 100, but we’ve seen it work with fewer), you can set a username for your page. This creates an easy to remember Facebook URL Jamie Wilson | Facebook. Just go to Login | Facebook to create the URL for your page."

To do this you have to go to your band page, click the edit settings and then go to the basic information page. One of the items there should be to set the page name. It will make you switch back to your personal account to do so.
Once this is set you cannot change it so make sure you spell the name correctly.
