There are Japanese Fenders that are unlined. They're all over Reverb.

The Portamento is beautiful. The Rogue is excellent as a way to jump into unlined but as far as other plain plank basses the Portamento is fantastic. There is a B stock on Reverb (700) for $759

Not a ton of them. That's the primary reason I started buying boutique fretless basses. From a production standpoint, they all get slotted. Most will get fretted. Handful will get lines.

Had a Cort Curbow unlined fretless 4 for a while.. I got rid of it was because it was too small of a bass for me but it didn't sound half bad after playing around with the eq and setup.

Only available as a Stingray used these days - but a superb bass and very nice looking - instant Pino sound.

However a new US Sterling or Bongo could be had as an unlined Fretless last time I checked.
