Fake EBMM Stingray being sold on OfferUp?

I'm no expert but this surely looks like a fake EBMM Stingray being sold on OfferUp.

I messaged the seller and asked for year and model but he didn't reply.

100% fake.

• No "Music Man" bridge stamp
• Headstock says Stingray but it's a Sterling-like body
• No "Made in San Luis Obispo" stamp on the back of the headstock
• Back of tuning pegs aren't imprinted with "Music Man"
• Neck plate ins't stamped with "Ernie Ball Music Man". Though it does look like it has a serial number. I'd be curious to see what it is and run it through the database.

That's probably a fake sterling body with a no name neck and an EBMM decal.

The price alone should have told you without a shadow of a doubt. You're not getting a legit EBMM for $400. I wouldn't offer more than $150.

No, but that’s a Sterling style body as articulated by the pickguard and controls. Sterlings have their control cavities in the rear.

You can see the boundary of the water slide decal over ‘Sting Ray’ starting at ‘g’.

I’d bet it came from DH Gate as they have a load off these

A lot of these counterfeit Stingrays come up. Pure garbage! A legit Sterling by Musicman 'Ray for $300 is a much better instrument.

I had a similar thought but it appears this has a 2 band eq and the sb14 has a 3 band if memory serves me correctly.

Not a real EBMM Stingray or a EBMM Sterling either. Also note the clear and visible sanding marks on the headstock where the original decal has been sanded off.
