Heard about that this AM on the radio driving to work. 3,000 guitars worth $18 million. So that computes to around $6k per guitar? I know nothing about Gibson guitars so maybe they're worth that much?
3000 $100 chibsons doesn't add up to 18 mill
Problem is that they don't sell for $100 as they are fake Gibson LP and they are trying to sell them as original Gibson LP.3000 $100 chibsons doesn't add up to 18 mill
$6k for chinese knock off LP is rediculous. It’s even a ridiculous price for a legitimate brand new stock Les Paul Custom, currently for sale @ Sweetwater for $5,500.Heard about that this AM on the radio driving to work. 3,000 guitars worth $18 million. The agencies explained that the guitars were likely going to be sold online, where customers can't verify their legitimacy before purchase. They said that if the guitars were real, they'd be worth a combined $18 million.
I'm sure there's reason -- possibly even good reason -- for that high price, but not one that has any meaning in my world. It’s even a ridiculous price for a legitimate brand new stock Les Paul Custom, currently for sale @ Sweetwater for $5,500.
Even knowing as little about Gibson as I do, I thought it seemed awful high.$6k for chinese knock off LP is rediculous. It’s even a ridiculous price for a legitimate brand new stock Les Paul Custom, currently for sale @ Sweetwater for $5,500.
I did read. I also know simple arithmetic as well as doing a little research. $18 mil is hype.![]()

Still: the market is the market. And as long as there are high-ticket buyers, there will be reason to fleece those buyers (see: Steve Martin and the forged art he bought)
