I think you could get away with that. In Yorkshire (and I only know this because I drove past it on a bus to Leeds of all places!) they have a place called "Yorkshire Fried Chicken" or "YFC" for short. Of course, seeing this novelty we stopped for lunch. Inisde it looks just like KFC, but in a soft focus, slightly surreal manner. It seems like they took every KFC convention, logo and anything else they could get their hands on an modified it to fit their own needs.

They're still going.

2 of his basses say MIM to me. The fretless has a route for the neck pickup as long as the bridge and another with a pickguard has the PG beveled where it meets the control plate. I'm not a Fender expert but those things look fishy and rather MIM to me.

i just noticed in some earlier thread a jaco reissue with the jaco image on the neck plate made my fender japan....the plot thickens.

Those are beautiful, but I think it's interesting the difference in comments from these from the "Fakes" thread. This guy is blatently using the Fender name as well as the custom shop logo on the headstock. Why are we more tolerant with this guy? I did a quick search for Fender Jaco and they didn't come up (maybe cuz they ended). It also didn't turn up in a jaco search.

is it just me, or does they both have one halfstep more (21 instead of 20) than a standard Jaco Jazz (fretted or fretless)... maybe that is how they get around the patent infringement.

Yes, but these are not cheap fakes made in third world countries.
