Roger Waters is a definate P Bass user I don't think I have ever seen him use a different bass.
Guy Pratt used a P bass for most of the division Bell tour a few times he used a spector

Billy "Bass" Nelson from Parliament-Funkadelic was always ultra funky on a P-bass in the early days. Bonus points for his great bassline on the Temptations 'Shakey Ground' with a slapped P-bass.

Nothing sounds as ominous as his distorted Precision.

You've just reminded me of two King Crimson albums - 'Red' and 'Starless And Bible Black'. That was him on them, yes? I haven't heard them for years. Ominous is exactly right. Great sound.
