Famous bands with bad singers

+1 Greatful Dead. It's Garbage of the highest wankery! IMO
1. Widespread panic. Hippies love 'em, I don't. I just don't get it and have never heard that guy sing any note in key.
2. Dave Matthews Band. He sounds like kermit the frog. His guitar playing is hackneyed electric licks played through a piezo taylor to "everyone's" amazement. He is what is wrong with music today. (the rest of the band is good though.) ((all IMO))
Just noticed my trend here... I hate "jam" bands.

Dude the dead and widespread are great bands!!! You don't have to like them but I think since your a bass player you should have some respect for Phil lesh. He's like the godfather of the 6 string bass..and Jerry and bob are good singers! Jerrys voice in the 70s is beautiful! Most ridiculous statement ever (second part not the bad singer part, I agree with that)?!
If his band wasn't famous no one would have heard of Fred Durst and wouldn't have the slightest idea of who you were talking about?!
I do realise he is also a pretty good film maker and does other projects but it was Limp Bizkit that made him.
Vince Neil of Motley crue is comically bad live. Studio is cool, but he sings every 4th word live. The last time I saw them though he was a bit better.
Red Hot Chili Peppers... Anthony Kiedis's voice is awful.

Define bad singer...i think guys who don't sing in key are bad, but there are other things that contribute to being a good/bad singer

Lacuna Coil isn't hugely famous, and their male singer probably has something to do with that. The female vocals are pretty good!
I think this thread should be retitled "Famous Bands With Singers YOU Hate" or "Trolls, please post here".

Keep seeing Eddie Vedder...he has one of, if not, the most imitated voice over the past 20 years. How many spin-offs has Pearl Jam created? I can see not liking his voice, but he can sing.
I haven't heard LB on the airwaves in probably 10 years. Their popularity and impact on the music world was a teardrop in the ocean and I doubt there are many folks who recall or even know who they are/were.
My apologies, I guess there are different levels of "famous" to me hence the "I don't consider his band very famous" comment

Sammy Hagar = Mediocre
Gary Cherone = Really good
The quality of Van Halen's vocal talent is inversely proportional to their popularity among VH fans.
Still further proof that actual musical vocal skill is purely optional to being a great frontman.
I own the album still. Listened to it about 20 something times and then shelved it.
I actually HATED Gary when he was in the band. Sammy is my favorite. I always felt that Dave's ego ruined most of the songs.

This is going to be the case with ANY singer who has been going on for any length of time.
I'm listening to a recent version of an early Level 42 track, Kansas City Milkman, and you can tell that Mark King's voice has changed a LOT from the early days. BUT it has some very good qualities of its own.
