Not quite bassists, but I jammed with Ted Heath on sax, Supermac on keys and Eric Pickles on drums. It was a lot of fun, but I still like my first band, a stoner metal trio with Paul Newman and Gilles Villeneuve.

Cleopatra plays an Egyptian Smoke Bongo.

Sigmund Freud doesn't care what kind of bass he plays. But the only song he plays is "My Guitar Wants to Kill Your Mama".

Isaac Newton plays a Fernandes - the "Gravity"

I once jammed with E.A. Poe. He was looking for a second bassist for his death metal band. He was using a BC Rich Mockinbird with double-P pickups and a custom made distortion with lots of output.

Sean Connery was in a band I was in back in the day. Good player, but his eye was always on the ladies, and these foreign dudes were always trying to kill him. We had to let him go for our own safety.

I used to play in a band with Houdini, but he always disappeared when it was load out time. He had a Stealth MM Stringray and usually cranked a Trace-Elliot 400 through a 4x10.

She's not on your list, but Marie Antoinette played a headless bass.
And Albert Einstein wasn't too fussy about what equipment he played, but he always played in Relative minor keys.
