Famous Monotonous Bass Lines

Can't believe Gloria by Van Morrison hasn't been mentioned.
Just Like Me by Paul Revere.

I can't either. I quite often use Gloria to go out into the audience to check the sound. I can easily talk to people and still keep playing in time.

Gloria goes over HUGE on the dance floor though, so I don't mind playing it.

Ha! My cover band loves this song. It is my least favorite of our setlist, but it does allow me to really listen to and appreciate my other band members while I try and look cool hammering away this bass line.

Ha! My cover band loves this song, and so do I; because it lets me stretch out a bit from hammering away on the F# and invent my own lines without overplaying it.

My new band just added what I think is one of the most monotonous bass lines I have ever heard. "Get Back" by the Beatles. I mean, Really, Paul? Were you sick that day or did the sound guy played your bass while you played the piano? Argh!

I find myself thinking about what I am going to do tomorrow or wondering if it is raining outside while I am playing it. This song makes a lot of the songs nominated here sound good to me!
