The man inlaid a squirrel scull... that he processed/ bleached himself. Made his own silk bass strings,....etc...etc..
and the brilliance nobody here got to enjoy because he was ridiculed by trolls...
Documented a scientific study on tonewood (using wood I sent him) , using isolated transducers & sine waves through actual wood. Which yeilded impressive & enlightening results btw.... AND THEN somehow created a stomp box that would duplicate those characteristics for any input.
tone "Modeling" via actual tone wood. 😎

Wow - Michael and I traded more than a couple messages as he always wanted to make sure what he was contributing was within the rules before posting it. He was always super nice and clearly knew his stuff here, and he obviously knew a lot more than that!

My condolences to his family and friends. RIP, Michael.

Ok great. The few of us HERE in the LC family...that were his friends ...will hopefully see it...and pay respect or grieve however they see fit... (albeit, over a year posthumous).

But the general TB community... in general?
They are the reason he quit posting here.

@Rôckhewer - I had to do a tidy little edit on your post (and your quote @Beej ), but kept the gist. Apologies. I did not know of any of his troubles with the community and only wish he had reached out to me. Maybe I could have helped.

And I approved the In Memoriam thread.

It's all very sad. Seemed like a real good guy.

I looked... then realized the Lounge is only visible to paying members.
I stopped supporting when I stopped building basses in favor of stupid guitars.
Hey... 5 bucks is 5 bucks. Times are tough
