I didn't include Iron Maiden because they have had 3 guitarists since 1999, which is most of their monumental 50 year career so far.Priest, Maiden
Drive Like Jehu should be mentioned as well.Fugazi is missing from the list, so far. I’ll add Gojira the metal list gets long, though. Lamb of God, Mastodon, Opeth, Death (short list).
Dean Deleo covers the sonic spectrum you’d think was two guitars.
Nice, I don’t know them but will check them out. Also learned of Slint from a different post today and dug the one tune I listened to of theirs.Drive Like Jehu should be mentioned as well.
Oh yeah…Spiderland by Slint is one of the all-time post-punk records.Nice, I don’t know them but will check them out. Also learned of Slint from a different post today and dug the one tune I listened to of theirs.
Oh and last one from me, my favorite on my list of 2 guitarists, not sure how I forgot them: Hum.
I'm not in full agreement with this. He was great, but he was a much more conventional player and Bob played more like a jazz pianist comping in much of their music. Many of the licks that we associate with them were actually Bob. I saw the band from 1976 to 1994 and never saw him have an off night, although I think the peak of his creativity was possibly '72-74. And listen to the Live/DEAD Dark Star. Weir is really the glue that holds it all together.Grateful Dead—we all know that Jerry was the genius
All the good albums were Smith and Murray. 2 guitarsI didn't include Iron Maiden because they have had 3 guitarists since 1999, which is most of their monumental 50 year career so far.
Killer!Jon Donais has been their lead guitarist since 2014. He's a full band member and he's featured on For All Kings and their upcoming album. I can't wait for the new Anthrax record to come out!
I agree. I thought Night Ranger was mentioned earlier but I can't find it.Four pages and no mention of Night Ranger? Brad Gillis and Jeff Watson are two very underrated guitarists, IMO.
Drive Like Jehu should be mentioned as well.
