I'm big fan of a lot of people. For upright I listen to a lot of Ray Brown. On electric I love Jaco and Victor. Marcus Miller has become a favorite of mine in the last year too.
Meshell Ndegeocello's "Berry Farms" is truly truly wicked.
And other basslines that are supremely sexy always come from Aston "Family Man" Barrett. "Kinky Reggae" is on a whole other level of virtuosity. Anyone can play it but I've rarely met anyone who can feel it like that.
I love all kinds of bass lines, but to hear someone play THAT behind the beat and have such a fat sound and groove...
On the flip side, the theme to Sanford and Son...that kind of bassline is so badass. Has it all: groove, melodic, percussive, hooky, flashy, supportive, all at the same time. Love Chuck Rainey!

I love putting on the headphones and cranking up "The Song Remains The Same". JPJ lays down some fantastic lines, especially during the jam sections of Whole Lotta Love and Dazed & Confused. He also has some very tasty runs during Song Remains The Same.
It's a great Zep recording because he's only got one guitar track to compete with.

Gentle Giant's "Three Friends". Longest, coolest bass line ever. The bass line IS the song. Note that Ray plays it quickly at the begining of the previous track, which segues into this one.
Also love to listen to McCartney on Sgt. Pepper. Amazing harmonic bass.
