Favorite Cab to match with a SVT CL

Looking to get a single cab that can fit in my car so the old 8x10's I used to play are out. I'm thinking a Berg NXT 2x12. Would that be enough as my only cab with no PA support? What cab do you like pairing with the CL?

I haven’t tried the NXT but have an older CN212 which I really like with my SVT and other tube amps. My only complaint with the newer style cabs like this are the dimensions. Wide tube amps like the SVT don’t sit neatly on top. When I’ve used this pair for gigs I usually leave my SVT sitting on top of the road case next to the amp. At home right now I have the CN212 laying on its side with the amp on top.

I would be sitting the head next to the cab or near the cab Im not a fan of having it sit on top of cabs and get all the full on vibration from being in contact with the cabinet.

Save yourself the hassle figuring out where to put your SVT and purchase something like this: Amazon Best Sellers: Best Mechanical Vibration Damping Pads

If it does not line up perfectly, then that idea will not work. Have you tried getting an 810 into your car? If it's a 4 door car, there is chance you can do it. I got an 810 into a 4 door Buick Lesabre without much issue.

yeah a 8x10 wont fit and Im kind of over hauling one around. I know some cars will fit a 8x10 the guy that bought my last 8x10 put it in the back of his car.

the berg NV610 is king if you can find one. Heck anything from bergantino will sound great.

DNA 210 4 ohm. Close to 50 lbs, but you can actually USE the amp without worry about either unit. Not a refrigerator, but those 10” speakers had quite a bit of “self-distortion “, so most cabs simply cannot really emulate one. But I like that DNA. I also have a 115. and another 210, but they’re 8 ohm units each and were purchased pre Covid for “ heavy work” back then. I’m not really “that guy”anymore, nor are most venues that I’d use that rig to play at my age.

I noticed that the Berg 6x10 is the same depth as the newer cabs so I started looking for a 6x10 but the only one I found they wont ship. If you have a lead on one in New England let me know. My back plan is to most likely grab a new Berg. I'm thinking the NXT 2x12. Just not sure if that would be enough on its own in a band situation as I wont have the money for another berg even if a matching one popped up used they seem to hold their value pretty good from what I see.
