FL KM, That is a sweet looking bass. I was sorely tempted when it was for sale.
However, I'm going to have to cast another vote for the Roscoe Beck. So versatile in a live situation, sounds great recorded.

My Highway One Precision Bass in 3-tone sunburst. I just got it last week so I'm still breaking it in. I love the neck and the bridge (badass II) great sustain great sound. IMO the Highway One series are the best bang for the buck as far as MIA Fenders go.

I am really a fan of the MIM Jazz bass. I have 2 of them. They are both modded. here is the first one.

This is a 04 Fender MIM Jazz V upgraded with SD Basslines, And Audere JZ3, and a Badass V Bridge. :bassist: Now for a pic.

And the other one is a 92 Fender MIM Jazz. It is upgraded with Fender 70's Vintage electronics, A Badass II Bridge, and Schaller Tuners. Here is a pic of it.

Both of them are GREAT Basses. They are some of the best Jazz basses I have ever played. They cover all the tones very well. :D

I was gonna open a new thread, but I guess this one also suits my question.

I've been really dying to try one of the now gone Deluxe Precision V models, the look of the thing just floors me, but never tried one. What's the general consensus on this Fender?

I'm especially asking this because there's a chance I could grab one with my favourite wood and colour combo...and I wasn't too keen on buing such a bass, be unhappy with the overall sound, and ending up gutting it/swap pups

Favorite fender bass?

Well if it has to be one you actually own, then it has to be my VM Jazz. It may soon be the CV jazz when I get it.

But as to favorite Fender bass you have ever played, it has to be, hands down, this bass -

I love the way they did the binding on the neck, and it just feels so smooth in my hands. I have played a few of the 75's now and there was not a lemon in the bunch! I just wish they would issue this one in some vintage colors as well! And for the vintage mojo vibe enhancement techniques, I would take of the ashtrays, the tug bar and swap the pickguard to tort...

My favorite individual Fender is my 2003 American Series Jazz: Chrome Red, maple, noiseless Fralins, and drop-tuner. My 2008 Am. Std. Jazz V is a close second.

For current Fenders, my faves are: American Standards generally; Roscoe Beck; and Tony Franklin sig. Sometimes I think I should sell my MIA P, and get the TF fretted.
