I was listening to some P-Funk to day, and was surprised at how far down in the mix the bass was buried in a lot of it. I usually think of funk as bass-heavy music, but a lot of this was not - drum heavy yes, bass heavy, no.
Some had pretty prominent bass - Flashlight, for instance.
What are some of your favorite, audible P-Funk (and for my purposes, all the flavors of George Clinton's funky goodness - P-Funk, Parliment, Funkadelic, the Clones, Bootsy's Rubber Band, etc etc etc) basslines?
