Well Heath, I always get compliments on my sound wherever I play so that's good enough for me.. And it's built like a tank.. Will last me until I win lotto ( and that's a long time )..

Why do you think Petebass & I always chime in whenever we see an Aussie Bassplayer looking for amps.. This stuff ( and Pete's Ebony gear ) is well built ( Darn near indestructible ) sounds great & doesn't cost anywhere near what we pay for imported stuff... AND IT'S BUILT RIGHT HERE IN AUSTRALIA!!!!! ( go aussie oy oy oy etc etc )

The rack mount head is the same amp as in my combo ( I'm thinking about cutting the head unit out of mine & making it seperate but that's another thread I'm not ready to post yet ) Just in a different format ( if you know what I mean ) and they use Eminance speakers etc etc.. All decent quality gear.

It get's my endorsement ( not that anyone asked for it!! ) and the boys at Pro Audio are great too.. Always willing to help out..

I guess I'm pretty lucky here in Canberra.. We only have 2 or 3 shops but they're all good..

Rock on!!!!!

Dan.

now now Muzik,

all i meant was there was a time when i thought i knew what i wanted, and then after some experience i found out otherwise - perhaps i wouldnt have said anything if the thread was entitled "favorite dream rig", but it wasn't.

bag end 112 - $340
bag end 115 - $400
Used Alembic preamp - $325
Stewart 2.1 - $900

Not having to carry two 4x10's and try shoehorning them into my car night after night - priceless :p

Yes, I understand. I spent a couple of years laying out big bucks for various Eden and SWR gear, always in search of the sound I have now. I'm sure patrons hardly notice bass tone (at least consciously), and other band members aren't much more aware of it (unless it is awful), but I certainly do. My gear now provides exactly what I want in terms of tone to please me, and it also lays down a huge foundation for the band as well as punchy definition. I'm willing to haul heavy stuff, but certainly respect others that don't want the hassle, or are into a more modern sound.

exactly...........
if i liked the ampeg 8x10 sound better than my bag ends, i would have it and not complain about the hassle
I'm a big time capitalist but a lot of times people (especially kids) get suckered into the idea of one rig or another simply thru advertising or what someone else says is "the best"
