Favorite Tuning?

I recently tuned my Warwick 4 DGCF, & like it a lot. If I stick w/it I'll want some thicker strings to bring the tension back up. I also play 5 & 6s; if I get used to the D thing I might go ADGCF & ADGCFBb on the big dogs. OTOH, having several different tunings & playing them all ofetn enough to be fairly proficient must add a bit of mental exercise...

I use 100s through to 50s. My wrists have been giving me trouble (RSI), so I like the low tension. Before I had any trouble with the wrists I was using 110-60s. I prefered the sound from the 110s but had to make a tradeoff. Theres still enough tension so that I'm not getting fret buzz or my strings clacking off the fretboard while I play but I had to work on softening my touch a little for that last bit.

Cool- I dropped my Warwick down a whole-step to accomodate our singer(s), & while it sounds fine, the lessened tension takes some finesse(I have to fake that part ). I think I'll go .110-.35 or so next time I restring. Thanks, & I hope your wrist problems aren't permanent.

Sub-Bass...

1 octave below standard electric bass...

E0, A0, D, G, C, F...

I've always wanted to try this tuning, but right now the amp I have would probably fall apart if I tried to play that through it. haha It just gets by with drop G#. Of course, I do have an 18inch cab in my room that's waiting for a head and another cab, so maybe I'll rekindle my interest for way lower tunings when I get that stuff. :bassist:
