Everything's there, IMO-
Pop-Rock-R&B-Psychedelia-Experimental-Orchestral-etc.

The Beatles (AKA ("the White Album")-
...by that time there were teetering on non-band status...3 solo acts with Ringo (& Yoko)

I voted for Sgt. Peppers. The album is jst fantastic, although if I hadn't chosen that I would have said Abbey Road or Magical Mystery Tour.

Rubber Soul, closely followed by Revolver.. I mean the UK Rubber Soul, not the hacked together US version

for me those two albums were the pinnacle of the group's achievements as a group... meaning that after Revolver, they branched out in so many experimental directions that it diluted the essential brilliance of the beatles, which was a solid band who wrote & played great evolutionary songs...

after Revolver, the balance was tipped in favour of overt experimentalism and 'solo' songs with the other 3 as backing musicians... sometimes when that worked, it was genius, other times it was horrible, but nothing was ever so solid & polished as Rubber Soul

some of Paul's best work ever is on Abbey Road, and George has two classic songs on there, but John's contribution isn't enough for me to make it a classic Beatles record.. it's more like the first in a long line of great Paul McCartney post-Beatles work

but Paul's best bass playing is on Sgt Pepper, IMO

I remember very vividly when Beatle albums were released when I was a kid, especially the White Album & Abbey Road. They were events! Everytime I hear those albums it takes me back to some basement and how the music would just chase whatever stupid cares of the day were away....good times, good times.

Very hard to pick one. I like all of them and remember each one as they came out. I'm 49 and have a sister who is 5 years older than myself who was a screamin', cryin' Beatles fan and bought each album. Those where special days for sure. I heard them all when they came out and was sad when the Band broke up.

Sorry for the ramble, I voted for Abbey Road #1, though Let it Be and Sgt. Pepper are just a hair behind. (The early stuff ranks way up there also).

I voted white, but I remember Sgt. Peppers as the first album I heard when I was a kid that gave me chills. I must have been about 6 years old, just awesome.

For me, Abbey Road, closely followed by the White Album.

For those of you that haven't heard LOVE, the audio quality is superb. I believe this could be the only Beatle material that has been digitally remastered. It sounds much better than my White Album on CD. Although, the latest incarnation of Let It Be (Naked) also sounds like it was remastered.

Had to go with "White Album" for no other reason than "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" - by far my favorite Beatles tune, and that is saying a lot.

I like all of their albums, but "Abbey Road" is one of their best works to me just because of the fact that, after some time releasing individual works labeled as "Beatles", AR was the first one in a long time in which they really sounded and felt like a band again.

I'm the one who picked Please Please Me. I like The Beatles when they were young and just starting out, full of youthful vigor and energy, and ready to take on the world. They weren't jaded and cynical like they would become later. Just a bunch of young guys ready and willing to shake, rattle, and roll. Weren't we all like that once?
