Buying probably easier then selling, however I have sold a Car , home speakers, a bass. You just have to sort thru the BS and dont fall for pre shipping scams or other scams. Selling its seems harder to see the buyers profile but you can generally tell if they are for real after 1 or 2 exchanges.

No problem with FB Marketplace for local transactions. Used it several times. Meet in a public place.

I'm not sure about shipping though.

Limits your buyers to ones with FB accounts only. I think TB, Craigslist (for local), Ebay and Reverb are the best, IMHO.

The advantage of the Facebook marketplace compared to a regular advertisement is that you can check the seller, ie his status on Facebook. You certainly won’t buy expensive bass from someone who opened a new profile yesterday!

We’ve got a local rag that cones out every week that is strictly for sale or trade, and local services ads. It’s what i use to sell most stuff. I list on CL and the Thrifty Nickel but most of my sales come from the print ads. I was on FB for a few months and sold a lot of stuff through the marketplace and a telecaster building group that had turned into a guitar/bass build group where selling was allowed. It was a good place to sell, but i only sold bass parts in the tele group and R/C hobby stuff in the marketplace. I tried a couple times with basses in the marketplace and had nothing but offers so low as to be laughable so I stuck to print and CL for complete basses. If you are willing to ship and have some high end stuff to off, you might want to check out the Nashville musical instruments buy sell trade group. There’s usually a decent amount of high end guitars basses and amps among the home recording stuff that seemed to dominate that group.
